sometimes when a song is in another language it seems to say exactly wat u want to say. it brings back a deja vu. i made an illustration on it last year. and suddenly i am transported back in time to when i was listening to the song and translating it thru my illustration. why do somethings break ur heart all over again even after so long. does that make me weaker or stronger, i dont know. id like to think it makes me stronger, cuz if it didnt kill me it made me stronger. thats y i love music in languages i dont understand because it leaves me thinking they say what i am feeling. and then i find out.. they really are!

today i did not take the bus like a lazy person. i walked all the way to the mrt station and got the groceries,the milk and went to mr bean which unfortunately isnt as jolly as jollybean! its not the same taste at all. but chalo koi nahin.. its edible. then walked all the way back home. its been a good day even thoh i didnt go anywhere.. as such ;)

the other side... adventures of haniah and rielka

what a day.... it was like a cross country race!..
it all started with me and rielka shopping around in bugis street, and suddenly realizing we are late to go to meet frieda for dinner. SO we hurry to the bus stop as F had explained. we break some rules goin there too. we get to a bus stop and it doesnt have bus no 51 on it. so we ask a girl whether theres another bus stop nearby, and she says yes yes.. walking distance actually. And H and R got to the other bustop where indeed bus no 51 does stop. so we wait and wait until the bus comes, upon entering we ask the driver to tell us when we cross china town mrt. and .... we are apparently on the wrong side. so he say go to 'the other side" (thats when this started), so we goto the other side only to find that theres no bus no 51 here.... so we ask the nest bus driver and he says... go to the other side of the building!!!!! and so we laugh a little and go to the other side and behold we find the bus stop where our bus stops.and the bus refuses to come,, finally the bus arrives. We get to the place we are... (think) we are supposed to get off.. and then we meet the "colored pens" dude!, he made a map for us to the galleria hotel in 6 different colors. omg.. lol.... it was too funny. we wanted to just say.. its ok to use one ink.. (promise)!!





then we godown further and find we are indeed lost again so we meet an indian dude, who takes us thru the middle of the road.. he certainly knew his way around the area. we find ourselves walking along the clarkquey area. definately nice to look at. but... boy did we walk for 2 and a half hours or wat!!!!!!!... then we ask another guy and he tells us.. oh (for the 5th time) its on the other side.. keep walking..!!! so we keep walking to the other side. finally we find the colorful bridge ive heard so much abt. once we reach there.. we almost cross it only to discover after asking a gora gentleman that we shud go back. so we head back.. and keep walking till we ask a smoking dude and he directs us to the "other side too"!!!! lol... we finally find the galleria hotel. R asks H if this is the "seng kee" building and H thinks she is telling her.. so she says yea yea.. lol. only after putting the phone down fo we discover that we are still not at the right building. we ask one more dude and finalllyyyyyyyy we make it to the place!!!!!!!!!

dinner was fabulous. tofu with rice!! then green tea ice cream with mochi!.. and to top off our day of adventure we had shirly temples at riverside cafe. :)

christmas spirit... started

our very own christmas (mini) tree!!!!.. aint it a cutie! we decorated it too... so this is officially my first christmas tree.

then had lunch with rilke.. (cyrilla) she is one of the fun-est ppl i know in spore! land of the 'rules'! also got my Mac battery.. thankgod!!.. lets hope it works. and offcourse how i i go home without eating my japanese pancake! me n rielke shud not be let out alone.. we wud end up eating all day.. lol.. we like the same sort of things!

a strange happiness was felt when i puchased a non stick pot!.. lol.. cuz i thot of how it wud be easier to clean! hahaha.. the lil joys of life. but honestly the last time i cooked red beans it was a nightmare cleaning it and i swore i wud not ever make it again in the same pot!

Afternoon was spent unpacking and surfing and sorting out stuff.. still cant find one imp document... hmm.. inshallah shall find it soon. oh anddddd.... i set up my WEBCAM!! it works.. isight works!!! hurrahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Evening was spent at orchard... beautiful as it was. me n frida went to food republic where i re-discovered "Phad Thai" (thai noodles) yummy!!.. and my fav spring rolls!!! then had to go get a hairbrush and a lipliner both i left back home. and off to the grocery store it was.. got all the food i needed. i think ill survive now :) "long live Patto"!!! then frida treated me to some ice fruit tea at NYDC (New York Destinys Child). had a yum japanese pancake too!!.. indeed it was deeeeeelicious! came home to find a dirty fridge so guess what... it was cleaing time. me n frida cleaned out the whole fridge and almost died doing it. got to my room and decided its been too long since i exercised!! so i did that too... good productive day id say.. rather nite!! :)

haha.. yes ive been eating n eating!! but i guess ill be goin back to my routine soon. went to do my ethnographic study in the morning, wow! truck art is indeed inspiring!.. took soooo many pics!.. woaaah. then had chayay at an adda, missed saad and his doodh pati kahaniyan. then got back home ate, and left for indus to hear the fun stuff.. ;) and get some questionnaires filled up. so lets see..

then did a lil somethin bad to the bumper.. atleast i thot i did. bt thankfully didnt. and omg that driving in gizri's back lane and reversing all the way out.. phew.. that was tuffer than any driving ive done so far.

got home and found out the ladiezzz wanted to goto the forum. and so we went. yes naturally i drove. never thot this wud be happening either. this year has been life changing in every single way. bought a bunch of earings.. beaaaaaauuuuuutttttiful one! then drove home..oh yea forgot to mention the gypsy palmist who read saira and mamas hand. how cool was that! me naaa.. i had enuf of it last nov! (phew)

on a day like today, the whole world seems to shine..
its amazing how i get closer to my friends everysingle moment i spend with them. friends are the key to a good life. took simba out too. took him to seaview, where me n simba got the adventurous-ness out of us! we ran and ran. went to nandos at night wth my parents. i can never have enuff of seeing them. i love seeing their smiles, their eyes as they look at me. its a day to be grateful for all that u have been blessed with. and to top it off with nandos chocolate cake!.. [:)]

i just found out abt the death of my friends dada. he passed away yesterday. she has already lost her nana and mamoo in the rainy season of karachi due to flood water and an electricity pole. i cant imagine how she must be feeling right now.. and i dont know how i can help her. i know they say everything happens for a reason, theres good in all that happens...

neway i hope and pray for their souls to rest in peace for these people were greatly loved and will always be loved and that is the greatest thing of all!

a trip down memory lane..

today i went to indus, such memories at every single step. every floor, every corner of indus represents a memory. i remembered all the great times i had there. they were tuff no doubt full of laughter, crying and tension! but its the laughter that remains.. the tears are forgotten. i guess its in my nature to remember the fun times, i always block out the bad times.. maybe thats how everyones brains work. met up with all the teachers, students busy making new memories.. and offcourse i got updated with all thats new in indus. the morning was spent in running from one mall to the other. i know i shud embrace change.. but i guess im an old fuddy duddy at heart! and i just love old things..! things that dont change..

its amazing how at the start of this year i never thot this wud happen to me. i never thot id have gone thru all that i have. and be able to come out still survivng. ive never needed my friends more than i did.. never needed all that i did and got it so soon!

all day i spent talking endlessly to mom and saira (my sis), we talked and talked and talked.. and i sneezed so much today, i think i have become singapore-ized!!.. i keep smelling the dust in the air, and my hands feel dry and clammy at the same time... but it surefeels good to not be washing dishes or cleaning or running from one place to the other. it was a good relaxing day.. exactly what i needed! gave lil simba a bath too.. how cute can that dog get...!!! he is just as adorable as always! if only i cud take him with me. ate biryani and baked potatoes for lunch.. yea i know heavy food.. and to top it off i wanted to goto bar b q tonite at night!... i have become like those pakis who come from abroad and crave bar b q tonite!!!!!... but yummyyyyyy food! mama also made devils food cake for me. ok the panadol cf i took in the afternoon for my sneezing is making me very very groggy, so im gonna sleep now! im so sleep deprived since the past 2 weeks. im gonna goto sleep yet again... today!
